Cyber security – opportunities in the Brazilian market

The covid-19 pandemic has disrupted and driven lots of different trends around the world in 2020; the most remarkable one has been the increase of digital adoption and transformation in corporations. Some unfortunate side effects of this have been the exponential increase in cyber attacks around the world, in particular in emerging markets.

Brazil today represents one of the countries suffering the most with such attacks. According to the technology company Fortinet, Brazil has suffered almost 2 billion attacks only in the first quarter of 2020.

Such context has created opportunities for many technology providers to help corporations deal with such challenges. It has also motivated many international companies with no prior presence in Brazil or Latin America, to start expanding to leverage the opportunity offered by the circumstances (both attacks increase and local GDPR data privacy legislation that was passed in 2020), in addition to the lower operating costs due to the Brazilian Real devaluation over the last 2 years.

We can mention a few examples of analytics and security companies (mainly from the US, Israel and Europe) taking the initial successful steps in the South Amecia region, such as Veracode, Exabean, Crowdtrike, Forescout, or Netskope.

In this context, Market Access can help international technology companies take their first steps in Brazil and Latin America; starting from market studies, through local market entry approach and go-to-market expansion plan. We can offer our many years of experience helping different companies’ international expansion to allow you a smooth transition into the new region.
