Portugal has a network of High Performance Centers (HPC) of world-wide level, with exceptional conditions for the sports practice. There are 14 centers that serve more than 30 types of sports. Those are distributed throughout the Portuguese territory, taking advantage of the unique natural conditions that each region offers to the athletes and their technical staff.
An international project is underway to promote national HPC to sports entities and opinion makers from 10 countries with high potential. The main goal is to overcome the lack of international recognition of the HPC and to consequently promote them in external markets, in order to foster its viability and economic and financial profitability.
