Between November 10th and 13th, CEO – Confederación Empresarial de Ourense promoted a virtual commercial mission between importers from Belgium and the Netherlands and about 30 companies from the Euroregion (Galicia-Northern Portugal). Over the four days of the virtual mission, more than 40 B2B meetings between buyers and producers in the agrifood and wine sector took place.
Market Access was the entity selected for the prospection and selection of importers, as well as for the matchmaking between importers and Euroregion companies. Due to the constraints associated with the pandemic, the trade mission took on a digital format. In addition to international consultancy services for the identification of importers/buyers, Market Access also provided the technological platform that allowed Euroregion companies to present their products and also perform matchmaking and scheduling of virtual B2B meetings.
According to María Fernández Vázquez, from CEO’s Department of Foreign Promotion and International Relations, the project was developed with “great care, affection, dedication and a lot of support by the Market Access team, even after the end of the reverse mission. Congratulations! It is a real pleasure and honour to work with you.”
The virtual mission also included a webinar with the participating Euroregion companies, in which Market Access consultants exposed the characteristics and opportunities of the Belgian and Netherlands markets, as well as presented the B2B meeting platform and enabled the companies to carry out virtual missions.
The virtual mission main purpose was to promote the agri-food and wine offer of the participating companies, as well as the opening of new markets and support for the creation of commercial agreements between the companies. The following importers participated in the virtual mission: Druif met PIT Wijnkoperij (NL), Enrico (NL), ESPAVINO (BE), Halfes (NL), Olijfbedrijf (NL), WineSTEP (NL), IM-PORT (NL). The approximately 30 participating companies presented their products, including wines, olive oil, olives, canned fish and seafood, cakes, sauces, jams, among others.
